When we got to the golf course there were 2 cars in the lot.  We went in and inquired about playing.  It was an open-air pavilion clubhouse, bar on one side, pro shop on the other, putting green in front.  In order to play, we had to sign a legal waiver acknowledging the we risked being killed, maimed or gored, and they we couldn't hold anyone liable.  We had to go back to the rest camp to get shirts with collars, since it would be improper for someone to be maimed without proper golf attire.  We were also informed we had to be off the course by 4 p.m.  Dinner time for the animals, you know.

Here is an instruction sheet available to novices at the course:

We were able to "hire" clubs, but they only had right-handed clubs for hire.  Since Tom is left-handed, I recognized my opportunity immediately and challenged him to a game of $20 Nassau.  Whatever that is.  It cost us about R80 to play 9 holes, and another R40 to rent clubs.  That's about US$12.00.  And the 2002 Comrades Invitational Golf Tournament and Safari is now a matter of history.  The leader board:

You can go to the South African National park's web site and see more about the course, and make your booking for a round at Skukuza Golf Course.
